BlackBerry users less active than iPhone users.

Even though its only six months old, the Apple iPhone is a major player in mobile Web consumption, while traditional smartphone users remain focused primarily on e-mail and messaging.

According to the M:Metrics January Benchmark Survey 85 percent of iPhone users accessed online information that month, compared with 58.2 percent of the wider smartphone market.

Nearly 60 percent of iPhone users conducted online searches, with only 37 percent of smartphone users accessing Web search.

While demographics of the two user groups might be similar, the results show that iPhone owners want more online entertainment and social engagement than users of the BlackBerry and other smartphones. This is why you will find more “cool” “non-boring” people using the iPhone. Also the reason I think it will be more popular.

Photoshop drag-and-drop not working solution

After copying or reinstalling OS X using ‘archive and install,’ did you discover that you can’t drag and drop a file onto Photoshop’s dock icon? This was quite frustrating and after some digging I found the solution and thought I would share a simplified version here in case this has happened to others.

If you are having this problem, you’re most likely missing an important file called Adobe Unit Types, which resides in the top-level Library -> ScriptingAdditions folder (create the ScriptingAdditions folder if necessary). Then just drag Adobe Unit Types from the same location in your Previous System folder into the current Library -> ScriptingAdditions folder (quit all Adobe apps first), and you’re done. Enjoy Photoshop once again.

iPhone Relocked in Germany

tmobile-iphone-small.jpgA German court overturned a temporary injunction against T-Mobile which had ordered the wireless carrier to offer Apple’s iPhone to its customers unlocked and without a service contract. Can this be traced back to the deep pockets of Vodaphone? Hey its their fault for not getting the contract with Apple. now T-Mobile can go back to selling Apple’s iPhone exclusively and locked to its own service. I personally don’t agree with the locking issue, but thats big business.
